Since its launch in Korea, the Throne and Liberty team has been making improvements and tweaks, as well as merging some servers and aiming for player experience improvements. In the most recent Producer’s Letter, producer Jongok Ahn shares some recent issues with the Resistance event, player compensation, and how they’ll improve PvE.
The letter was translated and shared by fan-run ThroneandLiberty.online, and in it, Ahn sives into the recent Resistance event and how the team was “Not able to fully comprehend the needs of our players” along with an apology for letting the community down.
In order to succeed in Resistance events, an event type added this month, one would need to participate over several days (and each of these events was supposed to happen every two weeks from Wednesday to Friday). Each of these days, you'd be able to gain score to improve your rank for the event by taking part in a series of dynamic events, with types weighted differently and PvP worth the most. One of the significant differences about this event is the time commitment required to do well.
As part of the new letter, Ahn says they’re suspending the Resistance event while they retool some things. This comes as part of an overall Improvement effort that takes feedback from this event as well as trying to balance things that don't force you to play certain content in order to succeed, in addition to more balance for PVE content.
Part of the effort to make things up to the Korean players who were frustrated by the first version of the event, all level 50 players will get the new skills released via this event as automatic unlocks.
“We are determined to fix the underlying problem” and Ahn says the team will have more on their efforts on February 7th. Ever, he adds that new skills will be acquired by level instead of being distributed through events that Force grinding or for certain events and competitive stress..
With Throne and Liberty’s release set to widen, the team is working to improve things now both for the benefit of the domestic community and the eventual global one.
