Wilds of Talandre, Throne and Libertys  first major expansion update, is coming on March 6th. Now that the team has finished their big server consolidation efforts, they’re moving fast on previewing the update, this time some of the combat changes on the way.

Headed to Solisium is Tier 2 gear. These new weapons and armor pieces will have unique effects to impact combat. These will drop from the new field bosses from the update, in addition to the abyss Dungeons and the co-op dungeons. A number of encounters will also drop special tokens that you can use to craft new gear.

To go along with all this is a weapon mastery system that adds to the options to tailor your build. As you progress your weapons, you'll be able to pick nodes, empower or alter your skills, and use different weapons and builds to unlock additional special skills across your kit. This looks to be another way to open up new options to play your way.

Additional combat changes are coming to improve the player experience. how they'll feel when they land is still to be determined when everyone gets a chance to try, but they say that they're trying to create a smoother and more responsive combat experience. they want to make it feel faster and more fluid to give it more life, essentially. There have been complaints about combat feeling a bit stiff or not lively enough, so in addition to all of this new gear, they're looking to make combat simply feel like it flows better. It's a basic consideration, but many of us have seen this overlooked before.

They're also opening up increased melee range and adding a more intuitive targeting system also intended to increase precision, especially  when you use tab targeting or clicking targets.

These are not the only combat changes on the way, but we'll see more as we get closer to the update release
