Throne and Liberty is getting a few big changes and preparing for a first round of server consolidations. Also on the way are some changes to combat mechanics,  and improvements to PVP as well as emphasizing more Guild versus Guild content.

With a competitive game like this, making sure that the server populations are healthy enough and that people have others to compete against is important, so they've officially announced the first server consolidations. They want to consolidate existing servers into something new instead of just folding one server into another.

There will be multiple steps in the process, starting with the merging of auction houses between the early access and the launch servers. There will be more info released later this week, but you can also expect free server transfers and the removal of some server transfer restrictions.

On the way are some improvements to combat mechanics that are focused on making things more intuitive, fluid, and fun. You won’t get forced into facing your target when attacking, and no more changes in movement speed when you attack. They're also going to streamline movement controls in and out of combat. There will be line of sight requirements to attack players and monsters, and other changes as well, including to the targeting system.

One of the major features of Throne and Liberty's open-world PvP, And this has been working well according to community feedback they've received. However, Alliances and Mega alliances are having some impact on PvP, so they're looking to expand and improve upon Guild versus Guild content and associated rewards. To add some more organized competition, field bosses will now be Guild vs. Guild content, working similarly to riftstone battles. There will be a matchmaking system and they are still working on that and the rewards but will know more about this next month.

More changes are also in the works. Player experience improvements, console mouse & keyoard support, more quality of life changes to inventory management and more flexible progression to help both PVE oriented players and PVPers to have robust options.

Talandre, which will arrive alongside the combat changes above and the brand new Weapon Mastery system, is coming. This is the first big free expansion content and we'll know more about it on January 28th. There's much more on all of this in the full Tico Talks video above.
