Throne and Liberty, NCSoft’s latest epic MMORPG has officially launched in Korea. There’s a brand new cinematic story trailer to whet your appetite for the large-scale battles, environmental challenges, and quests for power ahead.
While the game’s global launch is still a ways away, the new story trailer does give some insight into the conflict, the stakes, and the scale of it all. While this was released for the Korean launch, there’s little dialogue, so the language barrier won’t be an issue when understanding what’s going on. The trailer opens up on a battlefield with many casualties, and follows soldiers unleashing further death and destruction on what looks like a village, which we see through the eyes of a child.
Then, a mysterious woman appears, wielding purple light in her hand and unleashing even more horror, reanimating corpses, and using that strange magic in a new clash. We won’t spoil the rest here, since it is best watched for yourself, but this sets up both mor danger to come and maybe, how people might fight back. Still, it’s an effective setup to some big scary threats and the lengths some might go.
We get a look into just how large scale some of these big bads might get. In Throne and Liberty, this story will unfold, there will be opportunities to strategically turn into animals, explore the world, and yes, engage in huge battles. In those battles, using the environment will come into play, which gives a hint at how some of these bossed might figure in the world at hand.
A global launch is on the way, but first stop is this South Korean launch, where we’re all set to learn much more about the game.
