Throne and Liberty finally has a Western release date, coming to PC and consoles on September 17th. To whet player's appetites, the developers are hosting a cross-platform open beta starting on July 18th.
The announcement, made via the Amazon Games website, sees Throne and Liberty finally get a release date after years of development with both NCSOFT and then localization efforts by Amazon Games Studios. The MMORPG, which was already launched in its native Korea back in December, will launch in North and South America, Europe, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand on September 17th across PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5. This will mark the first MMORPG worked on by Amazon to come to console (with New World: Aeternum soon to follow the next month).
To celebrate today's announcement, Amazon released a new trailer, highlighting what exact Throne and Liberty is for the uninitiated.
For those interesting in seeing how the Western version is shaping up, Amazon is hosting an open beta in July, which will be cross-play. The beta will run between July 18th through the 23rd, and will give players a taste of the MMO heading into September's launch.
We had the chance to go hands-on with Throne and Liberty during Summer Game Fests' Play Days as well as chat with the globalization team at Amazon during our time with the MMO, and Kazuma came away interested in seeing where things go, despite some glaring oversights in combat.
