One of Throne and Liberty’s marquee features–castle sieges—is coming in just five days. Amazon has published a new in-depth guide to castle sieges, from the rules, how things kick off, each guilds particular roles, and what victory means.
After several steps of setup, when the siege happens on November 17th, guilds will compete to take the throne and claim victory. You'll have 45 minutes to claim the throne and declare victory. This may not sound like a whole lot of time, but because so much will be going on, you'll have to determine where your priorities lie.
Depending on your playstyle, you might want to move forward with breaching the castle walls with your own golems, take a stealthy route like the sewers, or a showier one and glide over on a flying whale. Or take advantage of the distractions everywhere to find another way.
It will be a chaotic situation, with people fighting all over, transforming into huge Siege Golems (at siege ruins), alliances helping each other out (or betraying each other), and more to figure out. One helpful thing is character names, guild marks and even outfit colors will change based on their relationship to you.
Siege Golems, yep, you’ve seen them, you may be itching to transform into them, and your chance is almost here. There are four types of golems–Battle Carriers, Gate Hammers, Jump Attackers, and Stone Crashers–summonable at siege ruins for a limited time. You'll have to be strategic. Some will help you break through the castles defenses, others may help transport your forces fast, even high up, and some may impede your enemies and open opportunities.
If your focus isn’t on taking the throne, you can always try getting your hands on Pillage Stones and grab what Lucent and Sollant you can out of the castle vault. You'll keep what you've taken even if your guild doesn't take the throne.
For the guild that does take the throne, they will be the first Legion Guild ever on their server, in charge of Solisium, the castle, tax rates, some aspects of trade, and Tax Delivery.
There are a lot more details to know, including some of the intricacies to be on the look out for in the full devblog. So if you are interested in preparing for Throne and Liberty’s first-ever castle siege, check it out.
