Throne and Liberty’s closed beta is fast approaching on April 10th, and the Amazon team has a new update with details on what we can expect from the test.
Now that Throne and Liberty has been out in Korea for a few months, this phase now moves into closed beta. The upcoming test runs from April 10th-17th, and Amazon and NCSoft will be using the feedback to continue fine tuning the game for its eventual global launch.
This test will have servers in America (NA-West and NA-East), Europe, Asia Pacific, and South America. It will be conducted under NDA, so don’t expect much notice or any streaming just yet. Still, this new blog does give us an idea of the areas they’re focusing on.
First, they’re looking to test elements and changes made to player progression and leveling. They want players to explore Solisium and get a feel for progression. There won’t be a level cap, so go wild. Late in the test, they “will provide help to players allowing them to experience all forms of content”, with the goal of letting everyone experience early, mid-game, and endgame in this new test.
This will also help get feedback on combat improvements and world events. With that in mind, they have a schedule for prime time events in each region for several days during the beta test. Since Throne and Liberty is home to some gigantic siege battles and strategic use of golems, expect some of that in the planned sieges.
They also want feedback on the economy. This means both the in-game economy and the cash shop. Go and purchase items, level up, earn yourself in-game currency, interact with the economy, buy things and sell things at the auction house, and engage with the cash shop. Every beta tester will get some in-game currency, known as Lucent, to buy items from the cash shop and test out the process. All of this expires when the test ends.
If you signed up for the test, the new blog says that emails will start going out as soon as today, with codes provided on April 4th.
