THQ Nordic Was Surprised by Kingdoms of Amalur Fanbase & What the Future May Hold

In a new interview at IGN, THQ Nordic's Business and Product Development Director Reinhard Pollice spoke about the company's recent acquisition of several well-known IPs including 38 Studios' Kingdoms of Amalur. After obtaining the rights to the KoA IP, Pollice said the company was surprised by "how many fans it had on its hands until the feverish reception to it buying the IP".

"It's always and interesting challenge to learn about that and find out about what's important for a specific group." Pollice said.

The interview doesn't go into specifics about what THQ Nordic has planned for Kingdoms of Amalur, but its pattern has been to issue a remaster of the "best" games in multi-game series. In the case of Amalur, it remains unknown what the future hold. As a single title from now-defunct 38 Studios, we're certainly hoping that a remastered version comes out and that they will revive Project Copernicus, the Amalur-themed MMO that never saw the light of day.

It's a great read, so be sure to swing over to IGN for a look.

What would you like to see THQ Nordic do with Kingdoms of Amalur?
