Tamriel will soon get spookier with the return of The Witches Festival event, which brings the spooky gloom and treats in the form of rewards to The Elder Scrolls Online next week.
If you don't have the event quest, “The Witchmother's Bargain”, you'll have to pick it up and one Witchmother’s Whistle will be part of the completion rewards. The event runs from October 24th-November 6th, so there’s plenty of time to take advantage of the passive double XP gain bonus, which no longer requires the whistle to trigger. The whistle remains useful, particularly for its skeletal polymorph.
When you defeat bosses you'll get a Plunder Skull container as part of your rewards and when you open them, the prize pool could include a Hollowjack or Dremora style item, festival-themed recipes, and the potential for worms, guts, insect parts, or crawlers if you wanted your loot to be as spooky as possible. Take down a unique boss type and you’ll get a Dremora Plunder Skull container, where you have a shot at any of the items from the regular skull as well as new and returning items. Three new items are: Plunder Skull Blunder Memento Runebox, Senchal Horned Owl pet fragment, and a tradeable style page for the Eltheric Revenant outfit style.
There are other opportunities to get yourself more skull containers, including by taking down arena bosses, incursion bosses, delve bosses, public dungeon bosses, world bosses and more. You can also get it via Tho’at Replicanum in Infinite Archive this year.
The witches have two additional trials that could be rewarding: taking down the Crowborne Horror and afterwards, challenging and beating Lord Hollowjack himself. If you complete these feats you'll get unique containers and chances at items you won't get any other way.
The Impresario will also return to trade your Event Tickets for rewards of your choice too. This event also brings the first chances to get fragments for the last event morphing collectible of 2024 - the Haven of the Five Companions house.
Full reward pool and trade items are in the event announcement in case you want to plan ahead.
