After being cooped up for nearly a year, wouldn’t it be nice to get out and hunt some monsters? CD Projekt Red’s affiliated independent studio Spokko Sp thinks so, and will bring The Witcher: Monster Slayer (TW:MS)  to mobile devices July 21st.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer will fall into the same category as other popular AR games as Pokemon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. In AR games players take to the real-world streets as they use GPS to encounter virtual creatures and series specific locations in real-time. In TW:MS, players will take on the role of a monster slayer, and use their wits to track down dangerous monsters such as werewolves and basilisk. You will have to take on quests and fight each beast out in the real world, as you obtain monster-head trophies for your collection. Here is a short list of features The Witcher: Monster Slayer will have:

  • Track Your Targets — Use real-time weather conditions, time of day, and all your witchersenses to hunt monsters living around you.
  • Explore Advanced Augmented Reality — Make the dark fantasy world of the Witcheryour reality with AR features that change your perception of places you thought you knew.
  • Embark on Quests — Experience quests that propel you through deep, story-drivenadventures inspired by the Witcher series.
  • Gather Trophies — Defeat dozens of different beasts and grow acollection worthy of a true monster slayer

The Witcher: Monster Slayer was announced back in August of 2020. The Announcement was accompanied by a short gameplay trailer which depicts some of the monsters that players will encounter, and the general flow of combat.

Are you excited for a Witcher AR game? Pre-registration is open now on Android through the Google Play store.
