The latest in the iconic franchise, The Witcher 4 has been announced at The Game Awards with an exciting cinematic trailer rendered in-engine.
The trailer follows Ciri, the “surprise” daughter of Pavetta and “Duny,” who’s become the newest Witcher, as she’s beckoned to avoid following a young lass, “a chosen one” who’s meant to sacrifice herself for a beast that’s threatening the village. Of course, like any good Witcher, Ciri fights back in a slick combat sequence with swordplay, magic, and more—and a tragic ending, as The Witcher quite often does.
The Witcher 4’s cinematic trailer by CK Projekt Red claims to be rendered in Unreal Engine 5, utilizing a yet-to-be-announced Nvidia graphics card. With it just being a cinematic trailer, we don’t see much of the proper gameplay, but it certainly sets the stage for what’s to come.
There are no further details—not even platforms, at the moment—so fans may have to just keep an eye out for more, including on the official site.
