The Waylanders has received a new trailer, along with news that it’s heading to Steam Early Access on June 16.

Announced earlier on IGN’s showcase, additional information was provided in an accompanying press release. The Early Access version will set you back $35, but will launch with a 10% temporary discount. If you’re unfamiliar with The Waylanders, it’s described as a party-based experience set in the Celtic and Medieval eras that explores mythology from Celtic Spain and surrounding regions.

It’s set to feature real-time combat with tactical pause, in addition to six basic classes, 30 advanced classes, and 9 companion characters. The Early Access version is set to contain about 10-12 hours of gameplay, out of the total 40 hours planned for the final release version.

It will feature eight unique locations with over 40 maps to explore. Additionally features like loyalty quests, crafting equipment improvements, and advanced classes are planned to be added in later updates.

Sergio Prieto, Gato Salvaje Studio Creative Director, explained further,

“The Waylanders is not only a game about legends, it is a story of our culture and our roots. The team was deeply involved in the development, and I’m very proud of the work we’ve done so far. As we head into Steam Early Access, we want the game to grow with player's feedback so it becomes not only a fantastic RPG, but also the best Celtic game possible.”
