The War Within pre-patch will be out on July 23rd, and introduce several features that set the stage for World of Warcraft’s next chapter when the expansion launches next month.
The pre patch will introduce Warbands, the new account-wide progression feature that will let your characters share in renown, a shared Warband bank, including items, as well as achievements and collections. Warbands will make it so you don't have to log into each character separately, as long as your characters are all within the same region, to get items or to earn certain achievements. Once you've done it, you've done it.
For those level 70 who have finished the Dragonflight final chapter can start the first part of a new questline, “Visions of Azeroth”, that will lead into The War Within. While the expansion is set to launch on August 26th, new content is just around the corner.
This new content also includes a pre-expansion event, Call of the Radiant Echoes, which will start on July 30th and run through August 26th before the expansion formally unlocks. You'll be able to collect a new currency, Residual Memories, That you'll be able to use to exchange for new items to add to your warband bank. This event is open to those with characters level 10-70, so If you are still leveling up or need some time before the expansion launches to complete all the Dragonflight content, you can still rack up some rewards.
Also on the way is expanded Dragonriding, with the ability to fly on mounts in all flyable areas. Skyriding is also coming, long with Steady Flight, giving some options. Skyriding was previously known as dynamic flight and you can toggle between this and Steady Flight, the style introduced back in The Burning Crusade.
Now that the launch date has been revealed, Blizzard is getting ready. With Warbands coming, paid character transfer between Battle.net accounts will end on July 23rd. if you have any tokens for these types of transfers you'll have to use them before that date.
