The Sunwell Plateau is open once more, as Fury of the Sunwell is now live for World of Warcraft The Burning Crusade Classic in full today. The new content update opens up the Sunwell Plateau as well as the 25-player Sunwell Plateau raid.
If it has been a while since you’ve visited, it’s time once again to meet and join the Shattered Sun Offensive. Kael’thas Sunstrider has betrayed his people and seeks to bring back the demon lord Kil’jaeden. Since this is, in fact, not a very good idea for the health and safety of Azeroth, you’ve got the job of preventing this from happening.
You’ll build up by doing this and helping out the Shattered Sun Offensive, a group dedicated to confront Kael’thas and the Legion and stop him. So this means you’ll have allies. Or you will once you’ve built reputation with them, and that’s where the daily quests come in. Gain reputation and complete quests in order to keep powering up their efforts and eventually be joined by additional allies that will help with supplies and even more daily quests. These new arrivals include blacksmiths, innkeepers, vendors, alchemists and Badge of Justice vendors for all your epic gear needs.
The new Arena season began with this update, so of course if you’re feeling itchy for challenges and gear you can take part. Items won through The Burning Crusade in Season 4 have some personal rating requirements to purchase them, but returning items from prior seasons won’t, and you can grab those as long as you’ve got enough currency to pay for them.
The Sunwell Plateau is, of course, one of the major features in this update. With six raid bosses to take on and beat, including Kil’jaeden at the end, this is where your efforts have led you. For those level 70+, you can grab 24 of your best and go take on this one starting today now that the update is live.
