Italian site Corriere.it (via Eurogamer) is reporting that the Vatican has given its literal blessing to a new Pokemon Go-inspired game called Follow JC Go. The game, like Pokemon Go, uses augmented reality to send players off on a hunt for "saints, blessed and other biblical characters". Rather than catch them via a fight, players will be challenged with answering questions. Successful interaction will see the character join a player's team.
Players will earn in-game currency called "denarios" that can be donated to charity at various stops along the way in any city.
Follow JC Go is only available in Spanish at the moment, though there are plans to release other language versions at a later date.
