The Quinfall's First Closed Beta Ends, Team Holds Dev Discussion and Plans Next Beta

The first closed beta for The Quinfall ended yesterday after one week, with the team promising more tests to come. After the beta closed, they also introduced what they’re calling a dev discussion, inviting the community to give feedback on the experience and ask questions.

After opening up on January 30th, footage of the first closed beta was covered by an NDA. The Vawraek team released a dev interview video with team members discussing their design philosophy and working to debunk some of the criticism over the skepticism that had emerged prior to testing. It’s not a surprise that there were questions, especially in light of various games that turned out to be different than their creators claimed (and being so fresh off The Day Before crashing and burning). There was a mix of little info and few peeks at what was in the works and sometimes wild boasts about the game world itself.

The closed beta did come and go, and for the next test, there will be no NDA on videos or broadcasts, so those invited will be able to share their full experiences. Vawraek says that they will be inviting a “much larger group” to the second closed beta, with applications set to open “soon”.

They’ve also launched a dev discussion over in the game’s forums, with more general feedback and answers being accepted, and a question to the community about their opinions on the game’s professions.

Some questions from the community included whether they might have deep sea fishing, alchemy and special potions and more in-depth resource gathering. Another player suggested a bounty hunter system be added.

You can see the discussion unfold here at The Quinfall.
