The Quinfall has been in Early Access for seveal weeks now, and the Vawraek team has a message to the community and an all new 2025 roadmap.
Their new road map doesn't list or break things down by timeline, but is more a collection of goals that they are looking to bring forth this year. First up, technical improvements, including increasing server capacity and potential server merges to maintain populations. We're also looking at the addition of a party finder, a worker node system, and a raid party system.
They will be improving combat and skills, with a combat and skill system overhaul. They will also be revamping the mount system, including animal husbandry and farming, and they will also plan to revamp crafting. They'll also look to add clan quests and a passive skill system.
The team looks to shore up the roleplaying and social systems in the game. These changes involve places to go and things to do, like a tavern, marriage system, and activities. Things like guitar playing or throwing darts. They also plan a transportation system.
Seekers, described as “a small, cute companion that assists players with buffs and automation” are coming. They already have a pet system, so this looks like it will be something adjacent.
The last two sections of the roadmap include improvements and additions to the world and territory systems. Castle Wars and region ownership systems are in the works. So if you are the competitive type, pay attention to that. We can also look forward to land excavation, underground content, and siege weapons and Golems for combat. They're also looking to add more competition and events, including a card deck system and tournaments, and several different PVP modes.
The team reflects on their beginnings, with Vawraek Technology having begun early in 2020, initially working on a small MMORPG called Kayra Online. That shut down when they had only 50 to 100 players left and it wasn't financially sustainable. Then, they began working on their next project with their core team of 10 developers, The Quinfall.
The Turkish based studio also talks about why they opted to do Early Access instead of trying to crowdfund the game. The reasons are similar to what we've seen from other studios, where EA could be a sustainable funding source and transparent approach that lets them continue development openly and with community feedback. We've seen crowdfunding over the years and while some studios are still using it, the Early Access model is everywhere these days.
We’ll have to wait until the team is ready to announce and attach dates to these features, But now we have an idea of their vision for this year in The Quinfall.
