The Quinfall will get its second closed beta starting June 22nd, as announced in the team’s latest gameplay preview video. The new video covers farming and animal husbandry systems, part of the MMO’s overall building systems.
The video is another gameplay-only preview that does feature a look at how some of these systems work, but some narration would have been very helpful. Still, it's nothing broundbreaking for MMO fans.
A player character starts out in a forest somewhere trying to tame a wild cow. The first attempt fails. Next, a second cow. From the UI, we can see an estimate on how difficult this will be to tame from the distance of approach. After a successful taming, we get some more insight into the mechanics, into town to find a vendor for food to feed goats, chickens, horses, and yes, cows. We get a demo of feeding the farm animals and their stats. Each tamed animal will have a quality rating and some stats to affect your choices. There’s also a “kill to collect” button and we see that used on a cow (in a simple, not graphic way), with the result being meat in the inventory.
We also get a look at collecting resources like healing mushrooms, flowers and other plants, and a look at the wildlife that will be in the world. Not only do we see sheep in the distance while we are watching plants being harvested, but there are also zebras. Then we get a peek at farming and some of the wider world like altar circles. you can build an altar in dangerous areas but if you choose to farm there, your rewards are higher.
Finally, there’s a deeper look at building, and the new build systems are pretty extensive there. We see everything from acquiring materials to placement, to building on top of other structures and more and it looks like it's pretty in-depth for those that want that extra player created touch.
On Discord, the team confirmed the beta date and said they will prepare to start sending out invites next week.
