The Quinfall is nearing its closed beta, set to begin on January 30th. The team shared an update on their beta plans, in addition to a hint towards a future open beta as well.
A couple of months ago, the closed beta date of January 30th was announced, and this date holds. The update today to the community made sure to mention that “ there are no plans for any delays” and that things are ready to go when the date arrives. Those who filled out the beta interest form (which is now closed) are among those getting beta keys.
In a previous Discord update yesterday, they noted:
“The first Closed Beta will take place on **30 January**. No postponement is planned. The date indicated on the Steam platform will therefore be updated to the Open Beta date in the near future. Closed beta participants will start receiving their game keys soon. Selected users will be able to participate without the need to purchase the game.”
Some on Reddit and in other spaces have been wondering if beta would be delayed or if it would really be an Early Access situation, but Vawraek Technology emphasizing free beta access quashes that speculation.
In that same update, they also say that once we get to the closed beta, the date on Steam will shift to the open beta date, which isn’t too far off.
The stated purpose of this closed beta is to let players into the world and to let them explore as well as engage in combat and to uncover some of the surprises in store. Of course, it will also let the devs gather some data and test their infrastructure with the first large groups welcomed into that world.
Since January has just arrived and we have several weeks to go before the closed beta, the team says to watch for more details to come and more on the game before the first major play tests begin.
