Warhammer 40K: Darktide now has its first class preview. Fatshark introduced the Zealot: Preacher with a new spotlight video and a class profile.
When you start the game, you'll be able to choose between four archetypes, with each archetype able to further specialize with a particular play style. The first highlighted class reveal is the Preacher, a class for the Zealot archetype.
It won't be surprising that the Zealots are absolutely devoted to their faith and are in loyal service to the Emperor of Mankind. They also happen to believe that the emperor is a kind of living god, so this strengthens that faith and their desire to serve their master and their greater purpose. These holy warriors believe that they are meant to carry this out and they're unyielding, consistently striving to be worthy and untainted in the corrupt world.
Zealot class options include the Preacher. This class is an aggressive melee fighter, so if you want to get into the thick of things, or thrive when getting in a good hit on your target and helping your team stay out of the fray, this might be the class for you.
The Preacher is good against armored compatants, and deals more damage when in lower health, so this will be a matter of strategy, skill, and knowing when to get out. The Preacher can even resist death when taking lethal damage, so you’ll have a chance to get out of scrapes. Their class ability also allows them to take the heat off their teammates by targeting an enemy, rushing them, and locking them in melee combat.
To go along with the class profile, Fatshark released a short preview video showing off what it’s like to play a Preacher in this fast-paced first-person co-op shooter.
While this is the first of the class profiles to come, more should be coming soon, with Warhammer 40K: Darktide set for release on November 30th.
