Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2 is a little closer. On July 1st, the next Letter from the Producer live broadcast will happen, and with this we’ll get our first 6.2 comments since the wide-ranging general update from a couple of months ago that gave the team’s general direction for a while.
In fact, the show details section in the official announcement are so light on info, these “details” are more of a confirmation that this is happening. They say: Patch 6.2 Part 1 and Miscellaneous Updates. That’s it.
Yet, we can reasonably expect some of what was revealed during the broadcast back in February that outlined some of their goals through 6.5 and 7.0. The Trust system will be extended to more main scenario dungeons, making more of the content solo-friendly for those who prefer playing that way or just don’t always have the option to group up. More weapon enhancements are on the way, and there will be a new Criterion dungeon for 1-4 players. The February broadcast also confirmed the debut of the Island Sanctuary feature, so we’ll have to see if that’s still on the table.

Island Sanctuary is an area that will let you make your farming and pastoral dreams come true as your character can go and relax there and take care of minions, chocobos, and more. Your friends could potentially even visit and vice versa. Some got Animal Crossing or even Stardew Valley vibes from the description, but the new broadcast just might shed some light on this new side feature and perhaps a timetable for its rollout. Any adventurer would probably welcome some peace after a while.
While these are some of the possibilities to come in the July 1st broadcast, the “miscellaneous updates” category is broad enough to also mean lots of likely surprises too.
