Filmed last year at Fanfest 2022, a new documentary chronicling the making of EVE Online by The Escapist, is now live. The documentary takes viewers through the early years of the MMO's development, with interviews from developers chronicling the history.
The documentary by the team at The Escapist looks at the history of EVE Online's development, chatting with developers from the CEO of CCP Games Hilmar Veigar Petursson, EVE Online's creative director Bergur Finnbogason, and more.
I'm very excited to share the premiere page for our @EveOnline documentary which will air tomorrow on The Escapist at 12:30 PM ET! https://t.co/umcLdACD4nWe premiered it to a packed theater at EVE FanFest today and the crowd loved it which was so awesome to see in-person! pic.twitter.com/mvsR8EamHo

Earlier this year CCP Games and The Escapist debuted their Fanfest documentary, Belonging: An EVE Fanfest Documentary, highlighting the player gathering that descends upon Iceland almost every year. That documentary highlights the players and the community around EVE Online, while The Making of EVE Online focuses squarely on the development, the people behind the MMO, and unpacking some of the history that makes up the 20-year-old game.
