Thanks to the inmmense downtime that plagued The Lord of the Rings Online this past week, players were unable to finish the Midsummer Festival, which ended originally during the downtime. Standing Stone Games has announced the festival has been extended for players through August 3rd.
Standing Stone Games made the announcement via their Twitter last night after announcing that the gameworlds were back online, albeit without the normal chat functions players expect in an MMO. The festival, whose center piece is the Great Wedding of Aragorn and Arwen, brings players of all corners of Middle-earth to Minas Tirith and other festival grounds around LotRO and has them take part in wedding preparations and more.
Note that we have extended the Midsummer Festival through August 3rd. #LOTRO

The Lord of the Rings Online's servers have not been kind to the developer or players as of late, though, and hopefully the current fix the team has in place will keep the servers running. Standing Stone Games has also mentioned they would be communicating more info on subscriptions, sales and more in the coming days, and that communication cannot come soon enough.
