The Lord of the Rings Online’s 64-bit server transfers don't have a solid start date, but the process is in its final stages. The latest Cord of the Rings set up a likely March window, Well as addressing concerns about stability, the Discord server, and answered some community questions.
Now that LOTRO has an official Discord server, participation has grown. The team is looking into adding more secure settings, including a verification system. There have even been questions rolling in about whether they can add additional language support, such as Spanish or Portuguese, but that's not doable at this time.
Much of the discussion has to do with the 64-bit servers. The team is working on finalizing everything, to make sure that everything is tested and the hardware and software configurations are where they need to be. Essentially they're waiting until they're far enough in the process to give an exact date, but it is “safe to say we're looking at March”.
As of this writing, it's February 18th, so when it comes to March, it could mean early March because they've still got some time to prepare until the month arrives, or could even be sometime into the month. It seems that Standing Stone is being cautious and we should be getting a release date soon. We are looking at update 43 around the end of the month, so stay tuned for that.
There is a transfer guide for anyone who anticipates needing to prep for a switch. It's particularly useful if you have multiple characters you want to transfer over, shared items, or you're concerned about bringing your kinship over. Once things do open, remember that you can only transfer US to US and EU to EU. So won't have to worry about rushing to transfer, since you can take time to prep as they are planning to leave free transfers available for a while
