For players eager to jump into the Morgul Vale and find out what Minas Morgul is all about, now is your early chance. The Lord of the Rings Online has spun up its Bullroarer server with the upcoming expansion for players to play around and, potentially, identify issues to help eradicate them before launch.
Announced earlier this week as character copying was opened up, Bullroarer is officially live until tomorrow, Friday October 18, though no exact time has been given as to when it will close down that day. A new forum post from the LotRO team details Update 25 with what players can expect to see.
Minas Morgul has almost arrived! Minas Morgul takes you on an expedition deep into the Morgul Vale in search of answers to a mystery that spans three thousand years. The words of the shade of Isildur will unearth secrets and visions of the Second Age that have remained untold until now, revealing playable landscape and new adventures from a crucial time in Middle-earth’s history.
- Two New Regions: The Morgul Vale as well as Mordor Beseiged!
- Level Cap Increase to 130
- New Crafting Guild benefits
- New Black Book of Mordor Quests
- and more!
Characters on Bullroarer will need to have finished the current questline of the Black Book of Mordor in order to kick off Minas Morgul, but for those who haven't you can easily advance using an NPC, Made of Lions, in the Epic Book room of the basement in the Eyes & Guard Tavern to do so. The it's simply a quick port to Gandalf to start your adventure.
Players should note that not all of the content is here - Shelob's raid and the new instances are to be released later in the expansion and as such they don't appear present on Bullroarer just yet. Additionally, crafting isn't fully functional as of yet, so players should be aware of this if they want to try their hand at the upcoming tier.
