The hotly anticipated sequel to The Last Of Us finally has a release date. Eager fans can get their hands on The Last of Us Part II on February 21st, 2020.

Revealed via a new trailer in today's "State of Play" stream, The Last of Us Part II showcases more of the dark world of The Last of Us. It's cold and unforgiving - but people are thriving again amidst the danger. The trailer showed off a settlement in The Last of Us Part II, as well as did its best Red Dead impression with Ellie travelling the world on horseback.

In a post today on the PlayStation Blog, director Neil Druckman asked the question:"How far would you go to exact justice against the people that hurt the ones you love?" The trailer shows us exactly how far Ellie would be willing to go, as she sets out to exact justice on an unknown group responsible for hurting her and others she loves. It was revealed that Joel, the protagonist of the first Last of Us title, is joining Ellie on her journey as well. While the father/daughter dynamic in the first installment was one of the driving forces that brought the story together, it'll be interesting to see how the dynamic changes with Ellie as the protagonist this time around.

You can catch the full trailer below or on YouTube. Also announced were multiple editions of The Last of Us Part II, such as a Digital Deluxe Edition and even an "Ellie" Edition, which includes a 7" Vinyl record of music on the soundtrack a 12" Ellie statue and a full replica of Ellie's backpack. You can learn more about each version on the PlayStation Blog.
