The Last of Us Part 1 Remake leaked today by none other than Sony themselves, announcing that the rebuilt version of the PS3 classic will be coming to PS5 later this year on September 2nd. The trailer also showed that PC version is in the works, though no time-table or release date was given there.
The leak comes directly from Sony themselves (via ResetEra), as a trailer was uploaded showing off the remade Last of Us in motion. The trailer combines snapshots of Ellie and Joel's journey in the first part of the Last of Us story, while also talking about the upgrades coming to the remade version.
We knew a remake was in the works thanks to a report by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, and the leak confirms it's real.
Like all games this generation, The Last of Us Part 1 Remake will be $70 on PlayStation 5 (and presumably PC as well), with the remake touting higher fidelity graphics, reworked gameplay to "modernize" it compared to 2013's release, and expanded accessibility options.
