The Grim Dawn forum has been updated with the latest Grim Misadventures developer blog. In it, fans are introduced to a new NPC that will arrive with the forthcoming expansion. Called "The Illusionist", the character will be able to provide players with cosmetic appearances for any item slot based on other items from that category. Think of Diablo 3's Mystic and transmogrification.
Players will be able to apply any armor look to any armor slot, but weapons will be limited by looks that are of the same category. The best part? Collections are shared across all characters!
In addition, a new collection UI will be implemented that shows which items have been collected in every slot. When the expansion launches, all gear gathered previously will be included retroactively.
When can I start using the Illusionist?
As soon as you launch the expansion, new visitors to Devil’s Crossing and Fort Ikon will become available to you immediately. You will also encounter other Illusionists in expansion areas. Their services are not restricted by level, though item level requirements are still respected. What this means is that a level 1 character may not use the appearance of a level 75 Legendary. Common quality items (exception: medals) do not have level requirements, so you can start using those right away!
