The Game Awards 2022: Keep Up All Of The Major Announcements From Tonight's Show!

That's a wrap! Congratulations to all the Winners, as well as the TGA security, which should be having an interesting after-action brief once the Microsoft theater clears.

Elden Ring Takes It All, winning Game of the Year. Despite a number of wins by God of War Ragnarok tonight, Elden Ring took home the major prize, with the team also winning Best Game Direction game earlier in the evening. 

Yoshi-P, producer of FFXVI, showed off some footage of the title. The new trailer revealed that the upcoming title is coming on June 22nd, 2023.

Bandai Namco is showing off another trailer tonight (Tekken 8, Blue Protocol, and now this), debuting their next upcoming title, made by FromSoftware.

Armored Core is back, y'all as Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon

Idris Elba is coming to Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty in 2023.

Reggie is on stage and his body is ready. Giving out the game award for Best Game Direction, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware's Elden Ring won the crown. 

Lords of the Fallen got another look, though no release date was revealed tonight.

Finally, some more awards were handed out quickly, with the following categories getting winners:

Best Independent Game: Stray

Best Action Adventure game: God of War Ragnarok

Crash Team rumble is coming in 2023. 

The Game Award for Innovation and Accessibility was won by God of War Ragnarok.

A new Action RPG by the makers of Life is Strange and Focus Entertainment, Banishers: Ghosts of Eden. The trailer shows off gameplay of the new RPG, coming at the end of 2023.

Blue Protocol is coming next year globally, published by Amazon Games in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand in the second half of 2023. Check out our coverage here.

Best Score and Music was presented by The Muppets' Animal and Geoff Keighley, with the award going to God of War Ragnarok.

Remnant 2, Transformers Reactivate, and Company of Heroes 3 console edition were all announced in quick succession.

Additionally, new VR title Behemoth was unveiled at The Game Awards 2022.

The cast of The Last of Us games and the upcoming HBO Show came together to announce the winner of Best Action Game. The winner:

Bayonetta 3

New Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is coming to PlayStation next year on April 19th.

Best Multiplayer game was won by Splatoon 3

Best Audio Design: God of War Ragnarok

Best Racing Game: Gran Turismo 7

Most Anticipated game: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Diablo 4 finally has a release date. the upcoming ARPG from Blizzard Entertainment got a new cinematic trailer tonight, with the announcement that it will be coming June 6th, 2023.

Digital Extremes and Airship Syndicate have officially announced Wayfinder, its online co-op action RPG. A PC playtest is coming next week on December 13th.

Baldur's Gate 3 is coming in August 2023, with some familiar faces being unveiled during the latest trailer. Check out more here.

The next award, Games for Impact, was won by As Dusk Falls. 

Nightingale gets a new trailer, showing off new gameplay, including some gathering, building, and Mary Poppins-style umbrella gliding. Check out more here.

Earthblade, from the makers of Celeste, was announced today, coming in 2024.

Dune: Awakening was shown off a bit more, giving a first look at what looks to be actual in-engine gameplay of the upcoming survival MMO from Funcom and Level Infinite. Still no release date.

Forspoken, the upcoming RPG from Square Enix, is getting PlayStation demo on PSN, tonight.

The sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order was officially unveiled after leaking earlier this week, with Cal showing off some new lightsaber moves in Jedi Survivor, coming March 17th, 2023.

The award for Best Adaptation is won by Arcane, the Netflix League of Legends show. 

Party Animals gets a trailer, coming in early 2023.

Also, the release date for The Last of Us Part 1 for PC was finally revealed, coming on March 3rd, 2023.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was revealed, featuring Kevin Conroy as Batman for one final time. the new title, coming on May 26th, 2023.

Destiny 2: Lightfall got a new gameplay trailer here at The Game Awards, coming February 28th, 2023.

The cast of Knives Out Glass Onion were on hand to announce the winner of Best Debut Indie with the cyberpunk cat adventure game, Stray taking the prize.

Judas, a new narrative title from the creator of Bioshock, was announced at The Game Awards. Coming to Steam, Epic Game Store, Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5. Coming from Ghost Story Games helmed by Ken Levine.

Supergiant Games is back with a world premiere, unveiling their next title, Hades II. No release window or date was given. News about early access will be coming next year.

Al Pacino kicked things off, announcing the winner for  Best Performance in games this year: Christopher Judge, who played Kratos in God of War: Ragnarok.

Street Fighter 6 showed off some new characters coming to the fighting game: Dee Jay, Manon, Marissa and JP.

The release date was also revealed, coming June 2nd, 2023.

The Best Family Game award was given out during the pre-show, with Kirby and the Forgotten Land winning!

Among Us is getting a hide-and-seek mode, coming to the party game tomorrow!

Horizon: Call of the Mountain got a new trailer ahead of its PSVR2 release next February.

Five esports awards were given out in quick succession:

Best Esports Game: Valorant

Best Esports Athelete: Yay

Best Esports Team: Loud

Best Esports Coach: BZKA

Best Esports Event: League of Legends 2022 World Championships

A new Hellboy has been revealed, called Hellboy Web of Wyrd. No release window was given, but the game will be coming to every major platform and can be wishlisted.

The first two awards are already given away during the pre-show, with Marvel Snap taking home Best Mobile Game, and Multiversus taking the Best Fighting Game of 2022 Crown.

We saw three short world premieres in a row, with World War 1 narrative adventure Valiant Hearts announced to be coming to mobile.

Additionally, indie darling Vampire Survivors is coming to Mobile, making sure everyone in the audience has phones. 

Finally, Sony's Returnal is coming to PC "Soon TM."

As part of tonight's preshow, Dead Cells was announced to be getting a crossover with Castlevania, the game that basically inspired the series. Dead Cells Returns to Castelvania is new DLC coming in Q1 2023.
