Smite 2 plans a series of alpha weekends until the game is ready for a 24/7 closed beta, and the first alpha is set to begin next week.
From May 2-5th, those with Founder’s Editions and those selected from alpha signups received will get access to the first test, which will include 14 playable gods and the arrival of a new version of Conquest mode. This is the first weekend planned, with more to follow every month to let players in to see and test the new gods, improvements, and more features the team is adding to Smite 2.
The planned closed beta that will follow the series of alpha weekends is currently estimated for late summer, so we're looking at several alpha tests full of reveals and new things to try and break. And break is what the team is asking you to do.
Titan Forge General Manager Travis Brown said, in a press announcement, “We are excited to welcome players to the first Alpha Weekend event. SMITE's success is thanks to its community, and without them we couldn't have ever imagined making SMITE 2. That’s why we at Titan Forge are looking forward to seeing players breaking the game, telling us what they like and dislike, and inspiring us with new ideas - all to make SMITE 2 a great game”.
While those who have purchased Founder’s bundles will get guaranteed alpha slots, those who sign up on the official site also have a chance at alpha access. Titan Forge is hosting a special live stream on May 1st to reveal the full list of the 14 gods that will be playable, and more details before the alpha goes live. The stream will be on Twitch at 4pm ET/ 9pm UK time.
For those who are curious about the alpha process and how things will progress, there’s a Smite 2 alpha FAQ to check.
