The newest Fallout 76 content patch is now live, bringing the game’s first high-end team raid series as well as some nifty new rewards, including pets you can, in fact, pet.
The Gleaming Depths raid is meant to be a challenging endgame fight series feat taken on by a team of four, and the patch notes emphasize these points repeatedly. They also claim to “punish some types of character builds and we’re sure you’ll figure out which builds are more advantageous for each fight.” In short, it seems to be rewarding some bit of build flexibility.
There’s also no timegating, which assumedly means they don’t actually expect players to hit this back-to-back-to-back in a timely fashion to earn the new 4-Star Legendary items that come with them.
This patch also introduces the new C.A.M.P. pets, which are actual proper pets that hang around your house like, you know, an actual pet. (And yes, you can pet the dogs. Or cats.) To bring one into your shelter, you put a cat bed or doghouse into your C.A.M.P., and from there you can name them or even dress them up. If you love them enough, they may also bring little gifts. These pets are available through the Season Pass.
Also included in this content update are mix-and-match Player Titles earned through content, five new Mutated Public Events, and the start of Season 19 of the Season Pass, called “The Scientific Forge,” with rewards including the new pets and a shiny new Tesla Cannon.
