Nexon’s latest update for its looter-shooter The First Descendant , Season 2 Episode 2, reworks the starting experience, with an overhauled main quest and new quests, a new Ultimate, and more.
The update follows a change in the season schedule after feedback that things were moing a bit too slowly and needed to be more engaging. The starter experience has been overhauled, with changes like new guide quests, a simplified main quest in the early game, reorganized early game fields, and an informative web guide. There are other changes like difficulty adjustments for early features that should help people get started a little more smoothly.
This update also adds Ultimate Blair, with two skill paths, Killer Recipe, emphasizing higher skill utility and Next-Level Recipe, offering creative build options. Both of these incorporate burn and fire mechanics in their moves, leaving you options to adapt to how you play. Ultimate Blair also gets a Descendant Story and in-game cinematic.
Void Erosion Challenge Mode ups the difficulty from the original Void Erosion. Offering five layers to challenge you, with one-time rewards for completing each of them and a ranking system that could lead to badges at the end of the season.
Additional improvements include a new badge system that has been overhauled, five sets of new External Components, quality of life changes and more you can discover in the patch notes.
Nexon has also announced a live Dev stream at PAX East 2025 in May that will show off some of the content coming in season 3.
