World of Warcraft will be opening up more to the story of Dragonflight when Embers of Neltharion (10.01) releases on May 2nd. Update notes are out to look over and see all the things we can expect next week.
This is the first of the two major updates that Blizzard promised, and it fits that title. Not only will this update introduce cross-faction guilds for the first time, it will begin Dragonflight Season 2, add an overhauled gear upgrade system, new Dragonriding races and two traits, and much more to take on. With a new zone, new raid, there’s much to explore.
Zaralek Cavern is the path that sets you on the way to the key story developments in the new chapter added in Embers of Neltharion, and the way to more challenges. Aberrus, The Shadowed Crucible, is the new raid where you’ll get to face nine new bosses in a fight to stop those who want to venture forth to claim the Earth-Warder’s legacy via some special artifacts.
This raid opens the week of May 9th, which is also when Season 2 begins. Fyrakk Assaults also debut the week of May 9th. In order to take part to lure him and his followers out to stop them from plundering resources, you’ll have to go to a Suffusion Camp. Also that week, the Researchers Under Fire public event is on the way.
The quest content in this update is extensive, with new world bosses, public events, public objectives, and a whole lot more.
As revealed in the notes, there are additional character customization options, including some new hair and eye colors for Nightborne and hair and skin tones for Dark Iron Dwarves. new eyesight customization menu means that all eye colors for all races can be customized to be blind. Those playing worgen will be able to assume human form when leaving combat if they activate a new Racial, Calm the Wolf.
