The Elder Scrolls Online base game Update 45 is now live on PC and Mac, along with the new Fallen Banners dungeon DLC, the latter a timed exclusive for ESO+ members.

In Update 45, several starter zones get their promised visual updates to bring them more in line with newer starting zones like the Telvanni Peninsula. Drop into Bal Foyen, Betnikh, Bleakrock, Khenarthi’s Roost, and Stros M’kai to check out the new terrain improvements, new lighting, and even props and adjustments meant to make the spaces feel more organically lived in.

We're also getting some map improvements, part of their overall work to continue to make things a little clearer, especially for new players as well as anyone who might benefit from the changes.

One of the other updates in this patch  includes new player response options which offer new ways to roleplay your character in certain quests. This rolls out in some quests with today’s patch, and lets you choose a new response to story NPCs. New options are categorized by tone and are: Kind, Grim, Merciful, Ruthless, Joker, and Flirty. These will usually just offer another response, in the patch notes it says “they can sometimes alter the course of a quest in unexpected ways”.

Other base game changes include faster initial mount speed, clearer Mundus Stone visibility in the UI, and new 10tth anniversary dyes. The team is also setting up the eventual arrival of add-on support for console and update 45 is part of that foundation.

The update 45 cycle will add more as well as bring the Cyrodiil Champions Vengeance Campaign.

Fallen Banners offers two new four-player dungeons, Exiled Redoubt and Lep Seclusa. Both are available in Normal and Veteran versions, with hard modes for each of the boss encounters. There are new unique item sets, two Undaunted monster mask sets that are only available on these dungeons, and additional rewards like a skin, exclusive dye, and achievement furnishings.

There will be ways to get the dungeon DLC outside of membership following Update 45 and Fallen Banners' launch on console later this month.
