When Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 comes to The Elder Scrolls Online, the island of Solstice will make its first appearance in The Elder Scrolls franchise. The island is beautiful, with conflict under the surface, and it is split in the center by a mysterious magical barrier. The ESO team takes us on a deep dive into Western Solstice, where you’ll start off.
The ESO team needed to create a place that could believably support the rise of the Worm Cult story that the team set out to tell. The new location also had to still feel like it was tied into Tamriel, so the tropical paradise you find carries influences from Argonian and High Elf cultures, as the two peoples now have peace but were previously deep in conflict. Meet a new Argonian culture, the Tide-Born, on Solstice, and the High Elves are also prominent there.
As in Elder Scrolls tradition, learn more about the conflict and zone in lore books and dialogue, and of course, completing quests. There are new and returning characters, some of which have ties to fan favorite characters. And maybe a sloth pet.
Expect new monsters as you explore and get deeper into the story, take on dungeons, and more. There are lots of rewards on the way, including new item sets, style pages, and collectibles. In addition to tropical settings, there are also some rather creepy and spookier settings, including Corelanya Manor, considered haunted, and a strange carnival.
