The Elder Scrolls Online Megaservers, Store, and Accounts Down for Extended Maintenance

The Elder Scrolls Online is dealing with an extended maintenance that has kept the megaservers  and account systems offline for more than 15 hours. The game remains inaccessible and is expected to continue in maintenance for several more hours.

Maintenance has been happening on the store and account system along with both the NA and EU megaservers, for a series of backend database updates. Downtime began last night at midnight ET/ 9pm PT.  There were no updates until about when the initial downtime was supposed to have ended, around noon Eastern, when a notice was shared that extended the maintenance until around 8:00 p.m. Eastern / 5:00 p.m. Pacific / 1:00 a.m. UTC.

This extended 12 hours of estimated downtime by 8 additional hours. The current the 8:00 p.m. ET uptime is also still an estimate. The team set up a forum post for official updates, and that also reflects the new estimated uptime.

"Maintenance is being extended by 8hrs to account for the extra time needed to checks and getting through the rest of maintenance. We will update if things run early," they said.

With the lack of access, members of the community have been weighing in, with questions about subscription time and ESO Plus memberships. Some also asked about missing the daily login rewards, and Event Tickets. Support is making no guarantees but directed everyone affected to submit screenshots of the calendar to request any missing daily rewards due to the inaccessibility of everything ESO today. The latest Golden Pursuits campaign was also set to begin today.

This is the second long period of downtime in recent months. The last time was due to a server failure, and was followed by some compensation in the form of an additional day on Plus memberships as well as additional login rewards in the following month. With this downtime also disturbing login reward streaks, we'll see what happens when the servers come up. As of this writing, there could be nearly five more hours left in maintenance. Or maybe everything will be back up in three.  Or 12.
