Votary Nahlia is the latest character from the Gold Road Chapter to get a new lore entry from The Elder Scrolls Online team. In the latest feature, written from the POV of Nahlia herself, we get to know this warrior mage who will be important to learning Scribing.
Scribing is one of the standout features exclusive to the new Chapter, so this is an important character for those who plan to play through the new content. As with most of these lore entries, it is told in the form of a letter, although most times, they are written about the character to someone else. This letter is addressed to Warlock Larenthia, in care of the Elden Root Mages Guild, Nahlia’s mother.
In the letter, Nahlia reaffirms her commitment to life as Votary Knight, after receiving what is the latest in a line of gifts her parents send that are filled with puzzles to solve. Yet, she says she’s going to make a difference in her chosen path, as this is what she feels is her calling. “This thing you and dad keep doing where you send me magical tests. I know you think you’re helping. I really do,” she says, while also once again, reaffirming her love of keeping adepts safe with her sword and discussing her oath before the Votary Commander. It is clear that from what she is saying and what she isn’t saying reinforce what her parents are doing.
The gift that her parents sent her was a handmade oaken chest inscribed with runes, with enchantments to seal it that she readily solved. Clearly, the magical talent runs in the family. Yet, she says ““I’m going to make a difference because of what I learned from you and dad. What you taught me about how to be a decent, caring person. Not all the spell theory.”
As we know from all the Gold Road previews, including Scribing deep dives, she will make a difference. This preview also states it clearly: “Join forces with this warrior mage and together you may unlock the secrets to Scribing: a unique magic that can enhance and customize your skills!”
