The Elder Scrolls Online has opened up testing for the Gold Road Chapter and Update 42. PC and Mac users can now test out the next new content updates and help the team to hammer out any issues before they launch in June.

In Gold Road, we’re headed to the West Weald to investigate some very mysterious happenings after the Daedric Prince Ithelia has returned (as the end of the Necrom Chapter revealed last year). The territory was first introduced in Oblivion, and now there are Daedric incursions all over, as Ithelia’s followers make their way into Tamriel through these incursions from Mirrormoor and threaten everything.

Full details on everything, with some minor setup and name spoilers, are in the PTS launch notes. On the PTS, the zone story will be available, along with nine full length objectives, six delves, two public dungeons, new world events, six world bosses, a new 12-player trial, Lucent Citadel, and much more. There’s also a special “capper” quest that will only be available for those who’ve completed both Necrom and the West Weald quests. You’ll also be able to access Scribing, the new system to customize your build exclusive to this chapter and the new skill style system that lets you unlock new color options for many skills.

There are also tons of new items, new rewards, and a brand new Tales of Tribute deck Saint Alessia).

The content is available on the test server for everyone who wants to test out the chapter, regardless of whether you pre-ordered the DLC or not.

Update 42 for the base game is also available to test, bringing HDR support on PC, other graphical adjustments, and improvements to the mail system. There are also a slew of fixes, combat adjustments, and new achievements, including a special one for the 10th anniversary.
