The Division: Heartland was originally announced two years ago as a standalone game in The Division series, bringing that franchise’s setting to a distinctly different location –small town America–as represented by Silver Creek. Today, Ubisoft shared a new deep dive video today where the Red Storm team reintroduces the game and updates on Heartland’s status.

A survival action shooter, the premise and connection to the greater IP is in the poison all over, and the different result that became of small towns left to try and survive the dangers.

Poison is spreading everywhere, and there’s a new world to explore and PvEvP gameplay alongside new characters and storylines to discover. Survival game mechanics, like finding materials and supplies, and completing objectives during the day are part of the goal. When you start the game, your first task will be to help get Silver Creek back up and running. This will let you explore and learn how things are in the town, including the hostile enemy hordes and other dangers.

At night, not only do you have to avoid the poison, but you need to make sure you’reprepared and know what your strategies will be. Survival game vets will know that nighttime is a dangerous time indeed, and Silver Creek will be on high alert. “Night is a deadly sandbox filled with unexpected threats,” says Taylor Epperly, Heartland’s associate game director, but their goal is for the rewards to remain enticing.

The team gives an overview of the classes, like Weapons Expert and Survivalist, and how to begin crafting strategies for survival. given the desire to offer sandbox style options, they looking to support different playstyles.

This time, the base of operations will be a shared space, where you can gather, access your personal armory, socialize, meet other players, and form teams. Session will begin and end here.

Since this is a “living game,”according to the team, they want to have lots of community feedback, and have opened up registration for their PC closed beta.
