This year’s most infamous video game, The Day Before, will see a timely and expected end on January 22nd, 2024.
The closure was announced on the official social channels of Fntastic Studios, which claims to already have “officially ceased operations.” All players on Steam will also receive a full refund.

Due to an avalanche-sized slew of controversies, the instance-based multiplayer game is already unavailable for purchase on all its original platforms, and players who already purchased the game have been promised refunds. At this time, only refunds explicitly requested
The Day Before’s issues were some of the most egregious of the year—or the past few years. The first sign of things gone awry was multiple delays and gameplay previews that disappointed players. Then, upon launch, there were the usual server frustrations—full servers, kicking players out—but on a scale that made it almost unplayable for most.
Players were promised an MMORPG, which means that per genre definition, they should be able to explore areas with relatively unfettered player counts. The Day Before, on the other hand, only had instanced areas of about 32 players. On top of this, there were also an innumerable amount of bugs that also made it literally unplayable (and not in the meme sense) for those who did make it into the game.
Allegedly, some are holding onto the game, selling “rare accounts” with access to it due to it being unavailable. Unfortunately for them, that’ll be futile, given the January closure date.
