Survival MMO The Day Before is fast approaching its new launch date of December 7th, with the team at Fntastic confirming when players can jump into the game in their respective regions.

Originally slated to release earlier this month (after multiple delays since its original 2022 date), the team at Fntastic announced alongside a new gameplay trailer that The Day Before would be hitting digital shelves in early access come December 7th. It also confirmed any betas would be limited to its "volunteers," which is a catch-all term by the studio to describe its employees, but also literal unpaid volunteers who have helped on the game.

On Twitter yesterday, the official The Day Before account posted a graphic showing the launch times in each major region, with The Day Before going live at 10 am Pacific/1 pm Eastern time on December 7th. The accompanying post on Steam states that the December 7th date is meant to be in the Pacific Time Zone, meaning that overseas, The Day Before will launch on December 8th in some regions.

While no word has come down publicly when the playtests for "volunteers" would be happening, we're a little under two weeks from the planned release date, so it would need to be soon. The Day Before is launching into early access as opposed to the full-fat 1.0 release players originally expected, so it'll be interesting to see how it shapes up early on and how the team at Fntastic keeps players engaged throughout the rest of development.

The studio isn't without controversy, with many out there accusing the developer of copying other game trailers (first Call of Duty earlier this year, and now most recently, Grand Theft Auto V), as well as the casual way it uses the term "volunteer" as a catch-all to describe its paid and unpaid employees.
