The Dawning has returned to Destiny 2. The in-game event began today and will run through January 2, bringing an atmosphere of giving, alongside racking up rewards. Some options you can get your hands on include a new Legendary Arc Glaive, Albedo Wing. Bungie also has some updates as we make our way into 2024.

For the holiday event, grab your Event Card and work your way through a number of challenges to earn yourself Dawning Spirit. Keep going and upgrading your card to earn Event Tickets, your way to even better loot. Up for grabs this year are an Exotic Ghost, a Legendary emote, Ghost projection, and even a transmat effect.

Defeat enemies and collect ingredients to bake cookies in the holiday oven that you can spread some cheer by gifting. As you spread cheer through giving others the cookies you've baked, you will also earn additional Dawning Spirit. Ultimately, you will exchange that for new and returning goodies. The new Legendary Arc Glaive Albedo Wing is coming for those that celebrate, through taking part in various ways during this year’s event. If you’re interested in a new look, there are even Dawning armor ornaments. And, there's a new Dawning Memento too.

With the event announcement, Bungie is looking forward with some new updates on what’s ahead. The Fireteam Finder group finder feature is still in beta, but the team will continue to work to get things polished up. Once it’s ready, it will become a permanent feature in Destiny 2, usable to find others for dungeons, raids, seasonal activities, events, and more.

On the way to the delayed release of The Final Shape in June, Bungie plans additional content, including weekly progression quests, called Riven’s Wishes, starting in January. Also coming is the return of Guardian Games, this time in March, and newly-focused on class vs. class competition. April will bring a two-month content update, Destiny 2: Into the Light, to lead us down the final road to the new expansion.

See more over at Bungie.
