Thanos Gets Another Nerf in Latest Marvel Snap Patch

Second Dinner deployed another over-the-air update for Marvel Snap earlier this week and with it also removed the incredibly fun Avengers vs. X-Men “Imbalance” patch event that breathed new life into some infrequently played cards and decks.

This latest balance patch focuses on chipping away at the strength of Thanos decks, which seem to survive everything Second Dinner throws at it and remain ubiquitous in the game’s metagame. This time, the team has changed the Mind Stone from a 1 cost to a 2 cost, something players probably never expected to see.

Psylocke, who was mostly played in Thanos decks, also caught a stray for Thanos this patch with a power reduction from 2 to 1.

Discard, which has enjoyed a lot of love as of late, has been a bit too prevalent and attracted the ire of the balance team, with a 2 point nerf to Apocalypse’s base power, bringing him down to 6 from 8.

Captain Marvel was a menace in the meta at 4/5 months ago, hasn’t seen much play at a nerfed 4/4 and the meta has shifted enough that the team felt ok restoring her power to 5. Cerebro 5 enjoyers rejoice.

Lastly, Adam Warlock, who was “buffed” to a 5/4 in a previous patch and went from never played to well, still never played, has now been “buffed” once again to 5/5. We’ll see how that pans out.
