Beta testing for the next Everquest II update, Myths and Monoliths, is now open. Any player can join the test, to help the team put the finishing touches on the next major update.
The update is set for release sometime next month, and Myths and Monoliths will being the Fabled Veeshan’s Peak, and Fabled Kurn’s Tower. Kurn’s Tower will have several versions, namely heroic, solo, and x2. There will also be some new collections coming in the update.
Some limited info we can get from the beta forums include a level 60 tradeskill quest series that will get you advanced recipe books, some new characters to meet, merchant updates, and of course new quests to complete. With new instances will also come new rewards, naturally, and more will be out on all of this soon.
While there haven’t been many details on the contents yet, with the update now hitting the beta servers, now’s your chance to copy a character over and get to testing. As usual, there will be plenty of opportunities to give the development team feedback and help shape the final release. If you’re interested, you can open LaunchPad and choose your game version.
The Myths and Monoliths beta will be open for the next few weeks. If you’re new to beta testing major updates, the beta build will be consistently updated and wiped, so you should expect that. Everything that happens in the beta will be gone once the update hits live, but there will be beta rewards later.
The update known as general update 120 will be out sometime in August. August is also scheduled to bring the next event in the new combined event, Summer Jubilee, Oceansfull.
