TennoCon 2023: Warframe's Cross Save Coming Later This Year While Warframe Mobile Releasing In 2024

TennoCon 2023 saw an update on two of the most anticipated updates to Warframe: cross-save and its mobile port.

During TennoCon 2023, Warframe's developers announced that the highly anticipated cross-save feature is coming this year. This brings a much-requested quality-of-life feature to players across the various platforms where Warframe is released on, allowing an account to be played despite where it originated.

As a result, players on PC can pick back up their game on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch, making it so they needn't start over just because they want to experience the MMO on another platform.

This ties in well with the upcoming Mobile port, as cross-save, seems also to be a feature there for Tennos looking to get their Warframe on the go. The mobile port is the full version of the hack-and-slash MMO and not a pared-down version made specifically for mobile. As a result, players can pick up their Warframe journey anywhere, whether it be on their PC, en route to work, and more. It's currently available for pre-registration on iOS, with Android to come later.

We had the chance to go hands-on with Warframe Mobile, and despite being early goings in development, the port is pretty solid. While there are some kinks to work out with UI placement and mapping the complicated controls and movements to a touch screen, the performance was great. For those who don't want to deal with touchscreen controls as well, there will be gamepad support, whether you're using a PlayStation 5 DualSense controller or a compatible mobile controller like the Backbone One.
