Tencent Announces Closure of Chinese OMDU Servers on July 19th

MMOCulture is reporting that Tencent will be closing the Chinese Orcs Must Die! Unchained servers on July 19th. This is a scant seven months after the open beta kicked off in December 2017. The game did not gain enough traction to keep servers open and may have been affected by the lay off of thirty employees (called "strategic changes" by Tencent) at Robot Entertainment this past March.

The Tencent decision for China does not impact the free-to-play Steam version in all other regions.
