With Temtem’s Patch 1.6 only a few more days away, the Temtem development team has given a preview of some of its biggest updates. Already, on this official blog post, it seems like the new patch includes a new season with a new twist, as well as a few neat quality of life updates.
Themed after winter wonderlands, Frozen Tales, the new season “will take you back in time when Temtem and Tamers roamed the cold areas of the Archipelago.” There’ll also be a new battle pass, new competitive season, and Premium shop items, as always.
However, Temtem is now retiring events almost entirely altogether, meaning this’ll be the first season without one. “Events are not easy to quickly fix, and as they are now, they’re causing more dissatisfaction than joy,” the preview blog reads, discussing continuous feedback regarding them. The Valentamers’ event’s cosmetics from the prior year will still be given without the accompanying event.
As for the rest of the game, competitive players will be glad to see the implementation of a replay system in the Showdown section. It allows players to rewatch matches they’ve participated in, as well as those from other players, including pause and fast-forward functions. PvP battles will also display Tems’ types during the Pick & Ban stage to help players prepare an ideal lineup. However, keep in mind that the team has discontinued development of the standalone client Temtem: Showdown though the game mode within Temtem will continue.
Some minor but useful quality of life features will also be introduced in 1.6. A “found location” feature gives players the island and approximate location of where they caught a Temtem, as devs explain it’ll be useful for those who want to approximate the Tem’s original levels via area. There’ll also be TemCard trading (for a Luma Drops price) and a new customizable emote wheel.
Patch 1.6 for Temtem will be released on January 29th on all of its platforms, assuming it’s approved, and a full changelog will come with it. The game is available on Steam, Humble, PS5, Switch and Xbox platforms.
