Tarisland seems to want to keep up the excitement for its impending release, and most recently, it’s done so with yet another introduction to future content. A video on the official YouTube page previews the Ranger class, which gives players for long-range and crowd-control gameplay options by way of its specializations—and a cool perk of a flexible ultimate ability system.
The specializations sound pretty standard but plenty usable for a ranger class, with “Animal Tamer” and “Hunting” trees for ranged damage.
The Animal Tamer path allows players to summon a beast by their side to help take down enemies, as well as set up traps to control enemies. There are also unique arrow abilities, one of which is Viper Show, an area-of-effect attack that slows those in its path.
Meanwhile, the Hunter is more of a traditional archer branch, with a slew of unique arrow attacks and movement abilities. It looks a lot more agile, great for players who like to keep moving.
This video also hints at an Ultimate ability system that lets players swap between Ultimates based on the situation. The only one shown in the video is Hunting Trap, which fully stuns enemies that touch it. However, there are six abilities teased in the video, grouped in threes, with two pointing to one special one (though we’re not sure if that means anything).
There’s no official date of release, but at least Tarisland seems close enough to completion that it opened up pre-registration for PC and mobile players, with a special gift for those who opt in. Most recently, there was a beta test for Chinese players, and there was previously a global test session back in November.
