World of Warcraft is about to make dungeons more accessible even if you’re playing solo or in a duo with the upcoming Follower Dungeons feature coming in Seeds of Renewal.

Similar to options like Final Fantasy XIV’s Duty Support system, The new system will let players who have reached level 60 to 70 play through normal difficulty Dragonflight dungeons solo or with friends and NPCs to fill the rest of the party slots. This feature will become available next week. Once the update arrives, you'll be able to queue up to join this particular dungeon feature within the Group Finder.

Get started by picking a damage dealer, healer, or tank role. Other human party members can do the same before you fill out the group of five with complementary NPCs. Then, head to an available dungeon. These are:

  • Ruby Life Pools
  • Nokhud Offensive
  • Brackenhide Hollow
  • Halls of Infusion
  • Algeth’ar Academy
  •  Neltharus
  •  The Azure Vault
  •  Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr

You'll be able to earn gear drops appropriate to your level and specialization like any other Normal difficulty dungeon.  It gets interesting when you decide to let one of the NPCs or another of your fellow players lead the group. There is a “Dungeon Assistance” toggle option that you can use to sit back and let someone else take the lead. Turn this off at any time if you want to resume leadership.

One notable part of this is that even if someone else is leading, including an NPC, everyone will go at your pace so you can explore the dungeon and even to learn or improve at your role. This is not just assistance if you don't have other human players to do dungeons with, it's also a way for some to learn the ropes of a particular dungeon and its mechanics. Since this is for level 60 to 70 players, no matter how they got to that level, this could also help people who boosted themselves up to get a hang of the dungeons.
