Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set for release on Friday, and today, Firaxis and 2K Games revealed not only the game’s launch trailer, but the 13th and final playable hero for the base game - Hulk.
For those who’ve been hungry for these Marvel heroes in a tactical RPG, the time is almost here. As the launch trailer showcases, it will be you and your team of heroes against Lilith, known as the Mother of Demons, and her own forces after taking over the Sanctum Sanctorum The trailer is an in-engine cinematic showing off some of the heroes you’ll have access to, like Doctor Strange, who is going to work to help fix the mess, Spider-man, Scarlet Witch, Wolverine, Nico Minoru, Magik, Venom, Morbius, and more. You’ll play as the Hunter, with your own powers taken from dozens of options.
Hulk is revealed in the trailer, and he’ll be contributing to your efforts to stop Lilith.However, the team revealed that he will be unlockable sometime later in the game. Overall, there are a number of heroes from throughout the Marvel universe included, including from groups like the X-Men included.
Gameplay will be set with turn-based combat, based on the ability cards you take into a mission for the three heroes you choice. So if you are a veteran of Firaxis’ XCOM series, you should be familiar with how this will go. You'll have to manage upgradeable base of operations that is called the Abbey and you can walk around there to explore the grounds and interact with the heroes you have present. Interacting with the heroes, and decisions you make add to the role-playing elements in the game.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be out on Friday, December 2nd, on PC, Xbox series X|S and PlayStation 5. There is a launch plan for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo switch later, but there are no dates for those releases just yet.
